Elm Tree Farms is a fifth generation family farm, owned and operated by Glenn and Pamela Wotten with daughters Mariah and Sophie. Located in southern Ontario, our cattle operation started out as a commercial cow/calf herd of over 100 cows. The purchase of our first Fleckvieh Simmental bull from D. Maronda Simmentals in 1993 formed a strong Simmental influence cow base in the herd, which has continued to expand and dominate. Simmental has been the only breed we have been exposed to with the ability to combine performance, thickness, maternal traits, and docility into one animal.

Today, our herd consists of 40 Fleckvieh and Fleckvieh influence females. We strive to produce cattle that are champions both in and out of the show ring. They need to combine the performance and natural thickness that Simmentals are known for with a moderate frame size, correct feet and legs, and enough style to compete with some of the best Red and Blacks in Canada. The majority of our cows are bred artificially, giving us access to leading Simmental genetics from both yesterday and today.
